"Mrs. Georgia Hammontree Brockett"
"Mrs. Georgia Hammontree Brockett, widow of Ben D. Brockett, who for 37 years was in the hardware business on West Michigan avenue and West State street and died in November, 1940, died Saturday morning at her home, 72 Champion street. She was born in Columbia City, Ind., and in early life moved with her family to Kingfisher, Okla., where she met and married Mr. Brockett. Survivors include a son, Maj. Lawrence Brockett of the army air force, who had been with his mother since Wednesday; a brother, Lee Hammontree of Shidler, Okla.; a niece, Mrs. Ollie George of Evansville, Ind., who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Brockett before her marriage; two grandchildren, Mrs. Fred Tod and Lawrence Brockett, Jr., both of Youngstown, O., and a great-grandchild, Dorothy Tod of Youngstown, O. Mrs. Brockett was a member of the First Presbyterian church and its sisterhood and of the Bryant chapter, Order of Eastern Star. She had been a Battle Creek resident for more than 40 years."
