Elizabeth Frances Gragson was born in 1830 in Henry County, Tennessee to Eli Gragson and Sally Williams. By 1850 the family was living in Haywood County, Tennessee, where Elizabeth remained until she died.
She married George Washington Faires in 1854 in Haywood County, and the couple had seven daughters -- Martha Almeda, Sarah Judabel, Frances Adelaide, Rebecca Burlean, Mary Effa, Bettie Gertrude, and Edith Jane Faires.
George and Elizabeth reared their family in Haywood County. When they died, they were buried in Chestnut Grove Cemetery near Brownsville in Haywood County.
