Uncle Dink Ford Dead

Obit:
After a lingering illiness,Uncle Dink Ford died at his home in Atkins sunday eveninga at seven O'Clock.Funeral service was held at the Presbyterian Church at three O'Clock, Monday afternoon. Rev F. Sanders,pastor of the Presbyterian Church Preached the Funeral service assisted by Rev. M.G. Milligan of Russessville.
The buriel service was in charge of the Masonic fraternity Hon. J. T. Bullock acting W. M. and the following pall bearers J.M.Barker,J.E.Darr,R.F.Cleveland,E.L.Worsham,J.P. Binham,A.D.Shinn,Ira Griffin and J.N. Neal. the following were the honarory pall:J.N.Burnett,F.N.Hopkins,James Gibson,D.M. Mourning,J.N.Nichols,Dr.B.F. Wilson,E.A. Darr,A.J. McCollum,A.M. Gibson,R.J. Wilson,D.A. Gibson,Joe Brown,Ira Darr,L.E. Gibson.

A large crowd attended the funeral and buriel services attesting the esteem in which Uncle Dink Ford was held by the people of Atkins and the surrounding country.

Uncle dink Ford was born on the 21st of May 1832 and died on September 19,1909,having reached the age of 77 years 3 Months and 28 days.He professed faith with the Presbyterian Church and was soon ordained an Elder in his church and for forty-three years served his church faithfully giving it the best support possible by his influence and means.
After coming to Pope County,Mr. Ford lived for a number of years about eight miles north of Atkins. Moving to Atkins when the town was in its infancy he became closely identified with its business and growth and by hard work and frugality he accumulated considerable property.
As a citizen he was honorably and upright,and as a husband and father he was true and faithful. He leaves two children,one son L.D. Ford Jr.,and a daughter ,Mrs. J.H. Fry besides many kindred and close friends who mourn the death of a friend.

Its sad to say farewell,but death is the beginning of life eternal. Live the life that assures a family reunion in the souls eternal home.
