Obituary for Jacqueline Joye "Jackie" Castleberry
Jacqueline Joyce "Jackie" Castleberry, of Eureka, died at Via Christi – St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita on Saturday, January 31, 2004, at the age of 66.

She was born on March 20, 1937, in Gridley, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Dalmer and Audrey Lydia (Fletcher) Morrow. Jackie attended rural schools and Virgil High School, graduating with the class of 1955. Following her graduation she was united in marriage to James "Mick" Sage. The couple traveled throughout the United States while Mick was in the military. In the early 1970's they returned to Virgil to make their home. To this union one daughter, LaVeta, was born.

In 1974, Jackie and LaVeta moved to Edna, Kansas, where Jackie was united in marriage to Bill Castleberry in December of 1975. She and Bill farmed until his death in March of 1990. Jackie then moved to Eureka to make her home.

She is survived by her daughter, LaVeta Johnson and granddaughter, Cierra of El Dorado; brother, Donald Morrow and wife Wilda of Pierce City, Missouri; sisters, Betty Bishop and husband Russell of Yates Center, Barbara Demler of Gore, Oklahoma, Karen Gaut and husband Gene of Dodge City, and Beverly Gaston and husband Clarence of Covington, Georgia; sister-in-law, Alpha Morrow of Madison; and companion, Bob Williams of Eureka, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Lena Valley Cemetery, near Lamont, Kansas.
