Alfred S. Pinkerton, 91, died March 4 at Skaggs Hospital in Branson.
He was born September 14, 1886 in Wayne County, Iowa near Alberton, to David H. and Lucinda Pinkerton. In 1900, the family moved by covered wagon to Taney County and homesteaded near Cedar Creek in the Bald Knob community. Shortly after moving here is mother passed away. An infant sister had passed away before his the family left Iowa.
Mr. Pinkerton cared for his father then until he died in 1936.
On October 14, 1911, he was united in marriage to Pata Francis Morgan. She preceded him in death in 1971, as did his two brothers Milton and Rollie.
He was a farmer all his life. Mr. Pinkerton is survived by his daughter, Geneva Runer, of Forsyth; three granddaughters, Roberta Hall, of Kirbyville; Barbara Muntzert, of Iola, Kans.; Patricia Tolbert, of Belton; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
