Death claimed one of Royston's most respected citizens Saturday night.
MRS. SARAH CATHERINE YOUNG succumbed to a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse L. Feaster. Mrs. Young, who was always jolly and friendly to all, was born in Franklin County. Her husband, Thomas J. Young preceded her in death. Before her marriage she was Miss Sarah Catherine Wheeler.
The sudden shock of her death cast a shadow over the hearts of many of our citizens. She was active up until her demise. She was always a loving mother and her memory will live in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Royston Methodist Church Monday at 3 P.M. Rev. J. Douglas Gibson and Rev. Roy C. Matthews officiated. The love and respect held in the hearts of a host of friends were evidenced by the large attendance and the many beautiful floral offerings. Burial was in Confidence Cemetery near Martin. She was a member of Allen's Methodist Church.
Surviving are 4 children: Mrs. M. C. Jarrett of Tugalo, GA, Mr. Frank Young of Key West, FL, Mrs. D. W. Sanders of Anderson, SC and Mrs. J. L. Feaster of Royston. Also, 1 sister, Mrs. Ed McWhorter of Martin and one brother, John Wheeler, also of Martin, survive.
Pallbearers included: C. B. Thornton, Jr., Guy Ridgeway, Dr. S. B. Yow, H. S. Burch, Allen Turner and Van Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were: C. N. Weatherly, Dr. O... E. Bennett, Frank Lee, Reuben Wansley and Harvey Sanders.
Cunningham & Pruitte Funeral Home was in charge.
