Our sweet and loving mother and grandmother, Lyle Adams Clinger, returned to her Father in Heaven on November 12, 2008. She resided at 661 South Orem Boulevard (100 East) in Orem, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born September 9, 1926 in Orem, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Adams and Blanche Klienman Adams. She married her sweetheart Joseph Aaron "Ski" Clinger on September 25, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on February 24, 2003.

Lyle was a proud member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers and lifted everyone she met. Lyle was a people magnet and had more friends than you could count. She was truly a shining star, one of God's choice daughter's. She's leaving the world a little brighter and has left a footprint in every heart! As a young girl she had the strongest testimony which she gained on her long runs home from church and mutual all alone in the blackest nights with her talks with Heavenly Father she knew he was with her always. She always testified of Jesus Christ to her children and she lived her life as an example to those around her.

She taught us to give service to those in need and that was the greatest thing we could do to be like Jesus, to do it with a smile, always be grateful for what we have. She always thought of others first and her door was always open for all those lonely souls and made plenty of food for all. She served faithfully in every calling she held, Stake Relief Society President, Young Women's Presidency, Primary Presidency, but her favorite of all was with the children as Primary chorister and she served in all of these callings many times over with love and passion for her love of the Savior. She was also an incredible seamstress and could make the patterns up from her creative mind. She was an incredible artist and her love for her children was a driving force for her beautiful creations. She enjoyed singing and started as a little girl with her sister, then later carried on the tradition with her family. Because of her dream and love of music, the Clinger family were able to travel the world over, performing and sharing their talents, bringing joy to many.

Survivors include her eight children: Melody and Dennis Pack of Orem; Patricia and Cameron Walker of Valley Village, CA; Debra and Ron Jensen of Hendersonville, TN; Leesa and Bill Leach of West Jordan, Utah; Aaron Rowe Clinger of Sandy, Utah; Jeanette and Kurt Hurley of Provo, Utah; Stacy Joseph Clinger of Venice, CA; and Rebecca and Steve Bishop of Orem. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three brothers: John, Kline and Kay Adams and three sisters, Fern Nuttall, Inez Marchbanks and Geniel Pino. She was preceded in death by her the love of her life Joseph Aaron Clinger, parents, her daughter Peggy as well as her sister Mae Peterson and her brother Dan Adams.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Suncrest 10th Ward Chapel, 90 North 600 West, Orem. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, and also on Monday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Ward Chapel.
