Sometime between 1840 and 1846 the family moved from Pennsylvania to Lee County, IA.
It was there on February 25, 1855 that she married Joseph Bealer. They had seven children while living in Iowa: Mary Jane, Sarah Louisa, Nancy Ella, Francis Siegel, Ida Bell, Nellie, and Pearl Cornelia.
In 1869 Margaret and Joseph moved their family to Crawford County, Kansas. They added five children after their move to Kansas: Cassey Geneva, Jesse A., Carry, Theodore A., and Joseph Elsie.
Though she lost her husband in 1896, she continued living in Kansas.
In 1918, however, she moved to Thompson Falls, Montana to be close to some of her children who also moved there.
She was a Baptist in faith.
