Adam Waybill is thought to be the son of Adam Waybill, Sr. of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. During the War of 1812, he served with the 36th Regiment (Jessop's) Maryland Militia, Brigadier General Tobias E. Stansbury's 11th Brigade, 3rd Division, Baltimore, Maryland. He married Anna Pierson, the daughter of William Pierson, Sr. and Prudence Stites, on April 3, 1821, in Fayette County, Ohio. They had seven known children: William, Hannah, Hiram, Stephen, Harvey, Maria, and Amos. They farmed in Fayette County, Ohio until they moved to Noble County, Indiana. Adam purchased eighty acres there on August 20, 1838.
