Obituary: Stewart Geddes England
Stewart Geddes England 1917 ~ 2006 Stewart Geddes England, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006. He was born March 23, 1917 in Moreland, ID to Charles Milo and Susan Geddes England. Stewart graduated from Pocatello High School in 1935 and attended the University of Idaho-Southern Branch (now ISU). He was in the U.S. Cavalry and then served four years in the U.S. Navy. During World War II he was a civilian radio operator in the Pacific. Stewart married Donna Stayner on January 2, 1947 in Boise, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 8, 1953 in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. He began his career as a flight service specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration in Wyoming. He also worked for the F.A.A. in Malad, ID, Great Falls, MT and Salt Lake City; retiring after 37 years of service. Stewart was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings including: scoutmaster, 11 year old scout leader, high priest secretary and was a diligent home teacher. He was an Eagle Scout. He and Donna served missions to Hong Kong and the Philippines. Stewart was a Salt Lake Temple worker for many years. He had a strong testimony and love for the gospel and his family. He was an influence for good in their lives. Stu enjoyed fishing, hunting and the beauty of nature. He generously shared his garden harvest with his neighbors. He was an avid reader and served others unselfishly. The family appreciates the compassionate care given by South Davis Hospice, especially Brittany, Penny, Kema and Denise. Stewart is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter-in-law, LaNeva Rees; daughters, Kathy (Bill) Swenson, Sharon (Rick) Bullock; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, six sisters and son, Dale. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at the Bountiful 20th Ward, 102 E. 1400 S. Friends and family may call Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Tuesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Malad City Cemetery at approximately 3:00 p.m. where military honors will be provided by the Malad American Legion. e-mail condolences to
