Berenice Courtney
Berenice Courtney, 87, St. Joseph, died Saturday, April3, 1993, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Courtney was born in St. Joseph and lived most of her life here. She was a graduate of the former Platte Business College.
Before her retirement in 1969, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. James Kapp.
Mrs. Courtney was a member of Wyatt Park Christian Church; the Captivators Sunday School Class; and the Christian Women's Fellowship Circle.
In 1925, she married Floyd L. Courtney in St. Joseph. He died in 1962.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Floyd D., in 1954.
Surviving: a daughter, Carole Vollintine of St. Joseph; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel. Burial: Mount Auburn Cemetery. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel, where friends may call any time after 1 p.m. today.
