Mrs. Amanda Joseph died April 29,1959 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Kansas City, where she had been a patient for seven weeks. She was 70.
Born in Brunswick, Missouri, she was the daughter of Jurgens and Cathrine Tietjens and was the youngest pf eight children.
She married Bernett Joseph October 14, 1910, and four daughters were born to them. All survivors, they are; Miss Alma Joseph and Miss. Vivian Baker of the home, Mrs. Rena Farnham, Nevada, Missouri, and Mrs. Ruth Fulton, Kansas City.
Mr. Joseph died in 1953.
Besides her daughters she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Emma Wolf and a brother, George Tietjens, both of Brunswick, Missouri; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Joseph was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Clara Barton Circle of The GAR and the Greater Kansas City Art Association.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, the Rev. Mr. Allen officiating. Pallbearers were Carl Wolf, Herbert Arp, Herbert Padgett, Elmo Joseph, Raymond Tietjens and Gerard Jansen, Jr.
