Edward F. Rowley, 58, Douglas native and former South Grade School teacher, died August 7 in a Denver hospital following a short confinement. Ed was the son of Thomas C. and Mary Ann Rowley. He attended grade school and high school in Douglas and was a graduate of the University of Wyoming. A Navy veteran of World War II, he had maintained Wyoming residency during the war years, as well as a residence at Esterbrook in post-war years while teaching in Phoenix, Arizona. A new mountain home near Esterbrook, under construction by Rowley since his recent retirement from teaching, was nearing completion at the time of his death. Survivors include a niece, Margaret Watsabaugh of Vashon, Washington; a great niece, Mary, and two great nephews, Thomas and Gary. A brother, Tom, preceded him in death.
