Virginia Kaufman Graber, 84, daughter of Ben and Alvina Kaufman was born October 23, 1921 near Moundridge, Kansas. She died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in Hutchinson, KS. She received her education at Pioneer Grade School and Moundridge High School. She was Baptized May 30, 1927 by Minister Goering at Eden Mennonite Church, later transferring her membership to First Mennonite Church at Pretty Prairie, where she remained an active member until her death. Virginia married Fred Graber November 25, 1940 in Moundridge, KS. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Pretty Prairie where Virginia was a homemaker. They moved to Pretty Prairie in 1975. She is survived by husband Fred of the home, daughter Betty White of Newton, KS, son Ron and wife Suzan of Oklahoma City, OK, and son Greg and his wife Karen of Andover, KS, 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren plus many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Orlo and Johnny Kaufman of Moundridge, KS. Virginia's greatest delight was her family. Her faith in God was an important part of her life. She was active as a Sunday School teacher and in the Women's Missionary Society. She volunteered regularly at the Et Cetra Shop in Kingman, and the Senior Center in Pretty Prairie and served on many Church Committees. She took great pleasure gardening and often provided the altar flowers for Sunday Services. She was always concerned about the needs of others and gave unselfishly of her time. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Per her request, memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church, Prairie Sunset Home, both of Pretty Prairie, KS or the Reno County Hospice in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068. Fuenral Services will be Friday, Aug. 18, 10:00 AM at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, Pastor Lester Zook officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 1:00 to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Livingston Funeral Home.
