WEBB, ESTER STEPHENS

A retired secretary with East Baton Rouge Parish Assessor's Office with more than 20 years of service, she died at 11 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. She was 78, a resident of Baker and a native of Hope Villa. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 3 pm. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Austin Stephens. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a sister, Ebba Smith, Baton Rouge; four brothers, Preston Stephens, Baton Rouge, Henry Stephens, Denham Springs, Carey Stephens, Norwood, and Aaron Stephens, Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Jesse L. Webb Sr.; two stepsons, J.L. Webb Jr. and George Webb; parents, Oliver A. Stephens and Ollie Womack; two sisters, Dollie Stephens and Myrna Wilkinson; and five brothers, Kirby, James G., Donald K., Ira Windsor Stephens and baby boy Stephens. She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star, LaSertoma and Camelia Rebikah Lodge No. 62.
