The Standard-Examiner, Sun, Jan 11, 2004 BRIGHAM CITY-

Opal Bee Skinner, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 09, 2004 at Pioneer Care Center. She was born on March 3, 1909 in Georgetown, Idaho, a daughter of John Moxey and Sarah Rozella Dunn Bee.

She married Ralph Morgan Skinner on June 29, 1927 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Surviving are five of her 10 children; Cleo (Mike) Griffin; Donald (Marie) Skinner; Doralene (Frank) Roskelley; Dale Skinner; Betty (Frank) Verhaal and one sister, Maude Jeppson; 46 grandchildren; 148 great-grandchildren and 89 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, five sons, Ralph, Gale, Gary, Dennis, and Randy; 15 grandchildren and two brothers and three sisters, Russell, Logan, Pearl, Virginia, and Georgia.

Ralph and Opal farmed in Idaho and Utah. They moved to Smithfield, Utah in 1941. They moved to Brigham City in the 1950's. Opal was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. Her strong testimony of the Gospel, her faith, and Father in Heaven helped guide her throughout her life.

She was very caring, loving Mother, as well as a good friend and neighbor to all those around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor until the day she died.

After her husband died, Opal went to beauty school at the age of 49 and graduated with top honors. She got her license and had a Beauty Shop in her home, which enabled her to stay at home and raise her two young sons, Dennis and Randy.

Opal had many talents, which she loves to share, quilting, crocheting, cooking, and caring for her friends and neighbors.

Opal was my grandmother, Virginia Bee Smith's, sister. Their youngest brother, James Logan Bee, is not listed in Aunt Opal's memorial nor is he listed in my grandmother's or the other sibilings' memorials. I have notified the creator of my grandmother's memorial and asked that Logan be added and would appreciate his addition to Opal's memorial as well. Logan, as he was known, was born on August 21, 1918 in Georgetown, Idaho and died on August 16, 2001 in Nounan, Idaho.
