DAVID WILLIAMS SR.
David Howard Williams Sr. "Pops," 74, of Las Vegas, peacefully, painlessly passed away Nov. 2, 2009. He was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and moved to Las Vegas in 1954.

As a single father, he raised three children and was a retired graphic artist, a trade that he truly loved. One of the achievements he was most proud of, was designing the Stardust "falling stars" logo. This was eventually used as a template for the sign in the front of the hotel.

His retirement years were spent regaling fellow java heads at various coffee shops with his witty stories and jokes; he even had his own club. If you were one of the lucky members, you'll know what that was. David would give the shirt off his back to anyone and his trust of his fellow man was fearless. He will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to have ever met him.

David is survived by one brother, Thomas of Malad, Idaho; a sister, Roseann Olsen (Melvyn) of Las Vegas; a son, David Williams Jr. (Brenda) of Las Vegas; two daughters, Victoria Schaefer of Escondido, Calif., and Tina Noto (Frank) of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

There will be a short memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Desert Memorial, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Please make any remembrance donations to www.macular.org to help fight macular degeneration.
