Benjamin Johnson Estes, 63, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life at the University Of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born to the late Ruth and Benjamin Estes.
He was a graduate of Louisa High School, a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam, he received seven purple hearts. After his time in the service he was employed at Liberty Fabrics in Gordonsville, Virginia, he later retired after 29 years. Ben leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 43 years, Jean Estes of Charlottesville, VA; seven children, Jennifer Moore, Tonya Estes, Gerald Moore, Frankie White, Wesley Estes, Benjamin Estes III and Deanna and Joey Moore, and Carla,; one sister, Patricia Paige and Larry; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. He also leaves behind devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. James Dean, Jimmy Brown and Artie Jackson.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, 2012, at Covenant Baptist Church with Bishop James Ragland officiating.
J.F. Bell Funeral Home, Charlottesville, VA, served the family.
