Mildred C. Connor, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Mildred was born June 30, 1921, in Evanston, Ill. She graduated from the University of Houston in 1943 and was hired by the Corps of Engineers in Galveston prior to graduation.
Mildred married Edwin Ruthwin Connor in 1947. They resided in Fort Worth, where they raised their family.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth for over 50 years. Mildred belonged to the Covenant Class and participated in many capacities. She was a past president of Educational Secretary Association of the Fort Worth public schools. Mildred retired after 20 years as an educational secretary in the administrative building.
She was a worthy advisor of the Rainbow Girls at the age of 16 and was also grand choir director.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. "Ed" Connor Jr.
Survivors: Son, Stafford Connor; daughter, Gail Parrish and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Craig, Chase and Nealee Connor, Scott Sallman and wife, Catherine, and Whitney Parrish; and great-grandchildren, Joey, Alexandra and Emma Sallman, and Parker Connor.
