FLORENCE M. CROWE
FROSTBURG - Florence M. Crowe, 86, of 135 Hill St., died Monday, April 28, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1911, in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Hartle) Clopper. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Crowe, and one son, Kenneth Lee Crowe.
Mrs. Crowe was a homemaker, and formerly worked for Friends Aware, Cumberland. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg; a charter member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 348. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1273 Auxiliary; Farrady Unit 24 Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion; Frostburg Homemakers; Frostburg Senior Citizens; Interfaith Community Food Pantry; and a participant in the Council of the Alleganies.
Surviving are two sons, Charles F. Crowe and wife Catherine, Chester, and Robert W. Crowe, at home; two grandchildren, Lauren Kovach, Vienna, Va., and Kimberly Tortunato, Great Falls, Va.; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Winters, Sharpsburg Pike; one brother, Verdeen Clopper, Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Esther M. Kuhre, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Memorials Fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 34 W. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
