|Birth: ||Dec. 17, 1890|
|Death: ||Aug. 12, 1960|
My father's mother...married James Ervin Blackstock, Jr. When he passed away from Hodgkins in 1930, she was left with children, Ruth, Lois, Nell, Dick and Billy to care for. She opened a boarding house, then married my dad's step-father, Johnnie Sanders. Johnnie (my Popsie) was not much older than her children, but they were married until her death on vacation in 1960. Together they had a son, Bennie Sanders. She was an exceptional gardener, growing all sorts of flourishing native plants, but an awful cook. My dad refused to eat chicken and dumplings because hers always included the chicken's feet!
