Hattie Carolina (nee Reinert) Lindhorst, 100 years of age, of Itasca, Illinois, formerly of Beatrice, NE. passed away in the Arbor of Itasca in Itasca, Illinois Monday morning, July 21, 2003. She was born on September 16, 1902 at R. Vesper (Lincoln County), Kansas. She married Henry A. Lindhorst on April 6, 1931 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan Grove, KS. They lived on a farm near Linn, Kansas before moving to Beatrice, NE. in 1947. She moved to Itasca, IL. in 1994 to be near her daughter Nadine Ilten and her family. She had been an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice and former member of the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a former member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, R. Linn, KS. She is remembered by her family and friends as a devoted homemaker and gracious hostess.
Survivors include one son, Vernon H. Lindhorst and his wife Helen of Idaho Falls, ID.; 2 daughters, Nadine Ilten and her husband Reverend James of Lombard, IL. and Janet Fuller and her husband Gary of Castle Rock, CO., 1 brother Henry Jack Reinert and his wife Bernita of Washington, KS.; 2 sisters Leona Kohlmeier of Wauwatosa, WI. and Linda Christensen of Phillipsburg, KS.; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Maria (Hesterberg) Reinert, husband Henry A. Lindhorst (1-9-1983), 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 25, 2003 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice, NE. with Reverend Douglas Irmer and Reverend Timothy Wagner officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE. The body will lie in state Thursday from 11-9:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. and at the church one hour preceding the service on Friday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beatrice, NE., to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive in St. Louis, MO., 63141, and the Arbor Of Itasca, 535 South Elm St. in Itasca, IL., 60143. A memorial service will also be held at the Arbor of Itasca in Itasca, IL. on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 3:30 P.M. Messages of condolence may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
