Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 29, 2002 in the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, Nebraska

Grace E. Logan, 103 years of age of Beatrice passed away at Parkview Center in Beatrice Thursday afternoon, April 25, 2002. She was born on January 17, 1899 in Swanton, Nebraska. She was a 1916 graduate of Diller High School in Diller, Nebraska. She taught at rural schools from 1916-1917 at Diller and DeWitt, Nebraska. She and Paul M. Logan were married on January 19, 1918 in Lincoln. She had been a saleslady at Hesteds, Klein Mercantile and Brown McDonalds, all in Beatrice. She was a former member of the Diller United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice and had sung in the choir for over 50 years. She was a member of the Vesper Chapter #9, Order of Eastern Star and a former member of the Beatrice Women's Club and Cosgrove Music Club of Beatrice.

Survivors include her daughter Jeanne M. Summers of Fort Worth, Texas; son Robert Logan of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter in law Ida Mae Logan of Beatrice; grandchildren William Logan, William Summers, Scott Summers, Susan Conroy, Lynn Pearson, Jan Jasiewicz, John Logan, and Susan Logan; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Grace (Hollingworth) Watson, husband Paul M. Logan (1980), and son James D. Logan (2000).

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 29, 2002 in the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with Reverend Nancy Kaye Skinner and Reverend Tess Hufford officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. The body will lie in state Sunday noon-9:00 and on Monday until the time of the service at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice. A memorial has been established with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to and will be forwarded to the family.

The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of services.
