Kenneth Edward Crow was born March 15, 1940 in Chicago, IL to parents Leslie and Dagney (Field) Crow and entered into death on April 20, 1995 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 55 years, one month, and five days. He grew up and received his education in Lake Preston, SD. Ken married Avis M. Anderson on January 10, 1959 in Lake Preston. In 1963 they moved to southern California and Ken worked for Alpha Beta Markets until they returned to South Dakota and purchased the Madison Locker. In 1980 they sold the Madison Locker and returned to California. In 1985 they purchased Wilson's Grocery Store in Centerville, SD which he operated until his death. Ken was a member of Scandia Lutheran Chruch in Centerville and was active in Rotary District #5610. He was President of the Centerville Rotary Club in 1988 and was active in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. He was nominated for District Governor of Rotary District #5610 for 1995/1996 term, an honor he had to decline after being diagnosed with cancer. Ken was a Paul Harris fellow. He was also a past member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Elks. Among those who survive and who gratefully shared his life are his wife Avis of Centerville, two sons, Craig of Lake Preston, and John of Centerville; two daughters, Cynthia (Mrs. Greg Burrell) of Brandon, SD, and Marsha (Mrs. Steven Heckert) of Reedsville, PA; seven grandchildren; his parents, Leslie and Dagney Crow of Hetland, SD; one sister, Carole (Mrs. Vernon Waldow) of Sioux Falls, SD; three foreign exchange students, Annelisa Christensen of Denmark, Aline Gomides of Brazil and David Pla of Spain.
