Betty Kathleen Steffen, 92, of Forest Grove, died Monday July 20, 2009.
A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. Friday July 31, at Hillside Cemetery in Forest Grove with Pastor Joel Collier of the Gales Creek Community Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hillside Cemetery.
She was born July 17, 1917 in Norwich, England, the daughter of Harry and Annie Emily (Shildrake) Potter. She grew up and was educated in Norwich.
She married ERNEST O. STEFFEN in June of 1951 in Columbus, Ohio.
They made several moves and lived in many parts of the world while her husband was serving in the Air Force. While he served in Washington D.C. she ended a 40-year career as a seamstress.
She enjoyed spending her free time sewing, knitting, shopping, traveling and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest, and by a grandson, Alan Daniels.
Survivors include her son, John Daniels of Forest Grove; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances to Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter at 1901 SE 24 Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123.
