McHENRY – Anthony Thomas "Pat" Amici, 81, of McHenry, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, Woodstock.
He was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Chicago, to Harry and Agnes (Murphy) Amici. On May 28, 1949, he married Angela D. Azzaro at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago.
He had been a resident of McHenry since 1951. He was employed as a meat cutter for National Tea and Sullivan Foods.
He was a born again Christian. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and was a doting grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angela; four children, Linda (Robert) Joyce of McHenry, Michael (Marla) Amici of McHenry, Mark Amici of San Jose, Calif., and Alisa (Ronald) Leininger of Belton, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Angela (Mark) Ketchum, Matthew (Kate) Joyce, Josephine (Ben) Wagner, Rosalie (Jesse) Benson, Maria Sommers, Michele (Travis) Creech, Michael, Mikayla, Mason, Meaya and Mairis Amici, Corrie Dee and Claire Amici, Nicholas and Alexandra Leininger; and 16 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Abigail, Carter, Conner, Amelia, Grace, Noah, Elizabeth, Naomi, Luke, Sean, Liam, Owen, Madeline, Maliah and baby Anthony.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 8, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry. The funeral will be at noon Friday, Oct. 8, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Woodstock.
