Luna Etta, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A. W. Arford, died at Westfield, Ill., Saturday September 9 of typhoid fever. She had been sick for several weeks there, where she was attending the U. B. college. Miss Arford was born near this place, July 27, 1870, being at her death 30 years, 1 month and 11 days of age.
She was converted when ten years of age, and ever since has been an earnest worker in religous circles. She was a member of the U. B. church, and was for twelve years a teacher in the Sunday Schools. She was also a great worker in the Y. P. C. U. and the W. M. A. societies. She was a noble lady, and her death was a sad blow to her relatives and many friends.
The remains were shipped here from Illinois Monday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. L. Schoonover at Pleasant Hill Monday afternoon, and burial in the cemetery nearby.
