Jim Humble, 56, passed away March 20, 2008, at his home in Livingston, after a two year battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 27, 1951, to Londo and Pauline Humble in Bartlesville, Okla. Jim was born the last of four children.

Jim attended school in Bartlesville and graduated in 1970. After graduating from high school, Jim was accepted into Oklahoma State University, where he earned a M.S. degree in education in 1976.

Following graduation from OSU, Jim accepted his first teaching job in Kansas, where he quickly joined the teacher's union and was elected president. After four years of teaching, Jim accepted a position in Iowa as the Human Resource Director for six school districts.

There, in a certification renewal class, he met his wife, Yvonne Deer. They married on Sept. 3, 1992, and their first child, McKinley, was born on Nov. 1, 1993.

As Jim and Yvonne anticipated the arrival of their second child, they moved to Kentucky to be closer to family. On Aug.t 6, 1996, their second son, Pierce, was born.

While in Kentucky, Jim taught high school and later accepted the position as principal. In the spring of 2003, Jim accepted the position as the Human Resource Director for the Bozeman School District.

Jim moved to Montana to pursue his love for camping, hiking, skiing and hunting. His greatest joy, focus and love of his life was his two sons, McKinley and Pierce. Montana provided a beautiful landscape for Jim to share his passion for the outdoors with his two sons.

Jim was passionate about life and loved people. His charisma and sense of humor, which he often used, drew people to him. He was active in the community and in school functions until his illness prevented him from participating.

Jim is survived by his wife, Yvonne and two sons, McKinley and Pierce Humble of Livingston; three brothers, Jerry Humble and wife Marge of Bartlesville, Okla., Tommy Humble of Bartlesville, and Kenneth Humble and wife RaeJean of Guymon, Okla. He leaves behind nieces, Mitzi Mallard of Telluride, Colo., and Jennifer Rainbolt of Bartlesville; nephews, Chad Humble of Bossier City, La., and Adam Humble of The Woodlands, Texas. He also leaves behind father and mother-in law Randall and Ruth Deer of Princeton, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his father, Londo Humble; mother, Pauline Humble-Morris; step-father, Tom Morris; and beloved uncle and aunt, Gerald and Glenna Vaughn.

Jim had many near and dear friends and family that deeply grieve his passing and will sorely miss his friendship, sense of humor, compassion and love for his family, people, life and work.
