Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bruce's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Kitterman officiating. Kitterman is chaplin of Chapel on the Hill at Friendship Haven. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery and military graveside rites will be performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1856. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at Bruce's Funeral home. Survivors include his wife Verlene, Fort Dodge; sons, Rick Remington, Fort Dodge, Donald Remington, Coppers Grove [Copperas Cove], Texas; daughter, Janice Strong, Fort Dodge; and five grandchildren. He was born June 25, 1917 in Chambers, Neb. He married Verlene Hale in Fort Dodge in 1948, and lived in Fort Dodge 44 years. He worked for Celotex and retired in 1984. He served during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and the Coastal Defence Artillery on Kodiak Island, Alaska."
