Karolina Hughes, age 85, of Peoria, passed away Monday Oct. 27, 2008 at Morton Villa.
She was born July 18, 1923 in Penzberg, Germany to Karl and Anna Marie (Muller) Mertl. She married Howard C. Hughes July 2, 1955 in Heidelberg, Germany. He passed away Aug. 3, 1996 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Survivors include one brother, Karl Mertl of Munich, Germany, and one sister, Georgine (Ziegfried) Kopnick also of Munich.
Graveside services will be Friday Oct. 31, 2008 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
