-William Wallace "Bill" Johnson, son of William A. and Helen (Snyder) Johnson, was born June 9, 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up there. Bill graduated from Brandon-Valley High School in 1967. He then entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.
-Following his honorable discharge, Bill returned to Sioux Falls, where he married Rosemary Jones. He worked as an auto mechanic for several Sioux Falls businesses. Bill was united in marriage with Roxie Bierle on May 1, 1999 in Renner, SD. Bill later worked as a fixed-route bus driver for Sioux Falls Transit until poor health forced his retirement.
-Bill was a member of John M. Bliss VFW Post 628 in Sioux Falls. He served with the Wayne Township Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and taking trips to Idaho. He loved watching NASCAR races and coaching slow-pitch softball. Above all, Bill cherished his family and spending time with them.
-Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Roxie; four children, Sherry Tiggelaar and her husband, Rollin, William Alan Johnson, Cory DeMers and Tyler DeMers, all of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Alex and Allyson Tiggelaar; two sisters, Terry Brandt and her husband, Roger, Blanchard, ID, Pat Alexander, Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews, including Megann Kessler and Seth Hawe; his parents-in-law, Judy and Rich Hawe, Tea, SD; a brother-in-law, Gordy Brower Sr., Mitchell, SD; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Guzzo, Memphis, TN, Jamie Kessler and her husband, Chris, Sioux Falls, SD; two special friends, Duane Groeneveld and Keith Lewis, both of Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
-Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Brower.

Bill was cremated and ashes were given to family members. In 2021 an alcove was purchased in South Dakota Veterans Cemetery for his ashes.
