Russell Vernon (R. V.) Carlisle, age 83, of Williams Junction, Perry County, Arkansas died October 4, 2009, in Benton. He was born on October 29, 1925, in Natural Steps, Arkansas. Mr. Carlisle was raised in Paron and graduated from Paron High School. He worked in the timber industry before working as a delivery truck driver for Congo Mercantile for over 30 years. Mr. Carlisle was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ida Mae Weaver Carlisle; his parents, Norris B. and Ellen DePriest Carlisle; four brothers and a baby sister.
He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Carlisle of the home; one son, James Carlisle and wife Jenny of Benton; three grandchildren, Chris Carlisle and wife Katherine of Irving, Texas, Jon Carlisle and fiancée Gina Arnett of Orlando, Florida and Carrie Cotter and husband Chris of Euless, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Cotter, Austin and Audrey Carlisle and one expected great-grandson. He is also survived by a host of family, friends and his brothers and sisters at the Paron Church of Christ.
