Nicholas Keep Cappanno
May 19, 1980 – November 17, 2013

Nicholas Keep Cappanno, 33, of Montrose, CO died in a mining accident near Ouray, CO on November 17th.
A loving, hard-working, and selfless husband and father, Nick's ambition was to support and provide for his family. He never missed an opportunity to teach his boys something new or share a fascinating bedtime story. He was a man after God whose faith was present in every aspect of his life.
Nick enjoyed local craft beer, working with his hands, and creating new things. His passion was to combine these interests to start a malting or brewing business. He also enjoyed the occasional prank on unsuspecting family members and cooking his favorite Italian meals.
Nick's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the fine workers who did everything they could to keep Nick here with us. Their bravery will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Martha, 31; two sons, Brayden and Barrett, ages 5 and 2; his parents, Dan and Audrey Keep; his brother Eric and Riy Keep, all of Montrose; his sister Robyn and Kelly Johnson of Laramie, WY; and his grandparents Paul and Margaret Dow of Montrose. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fred and Iris Keep.
A visitation for Nick's family and close friends will be held on Thursday evening, November 21st, from 4 to 6 pm. A public visitation will commence from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday. Both services will be held at Grace Community Church on Woodgate Road in Montrose.
In light of his enjoyment of the local craft beer culture, there will be a gathering on Thursday evening around 7:00 at Two Rascals Brewing in Montrose. Nothing would make Nick happier than for his friends to gather in celebration, conversation, live music, and sharing funny stories.
A celebration funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 22nd at 3:00 pm at Grace Community Church in Montrose. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose.
There will also be a celebration of Nick's life at Remington's at the Bridges, 2500 Bridge Circle in Montrose, immediately following the services on Friday.
A memorial fund has been established for Nick's wife and children. Donations for the Cappanno Family Memorial Fund are being accepted at cappannomemorialfund.com or at any Alpine Bank branch.
