An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on April 2, 1914 for A. M. Craddick, a former county treasurer for Shelby County, stated that he had died at his home in Joplin, Mo. Sunday [March 29, 1914]. A. M. Craddick, familiarly known as "Bud" Craddick, was born in Tower Hill, July 16, 1844 and at the time of his death was 69 years, 8 months and 12 days old. He was one of 11 children of the late Thos. W. Craddick who had come to Shelby County from Maryland in 1836. Of the 11 children, only one was still living, a daughter in Walla Walla, Wash. Mr. Craddick married Mrs. Eliza Ann Moore on the 12th of November, 1868. She had preceded him in death. They were the parents of seven children, four sons and three daughters. Three of the children had preceded the father in death. Surviving were Mrs. Arnitz Rasbach, wife of Edward Rasbach of Decatur; Marshall T. and Miss Etta Craddick of Joplin, Mo., and Tilden Craddick of Parsons, Kan. Mr. Craddick was elected county treasurer of Shelby County in 1890 holding that office four years, at which time he retired from office and bought the Woodward Flouring Mills of Shelbyville. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John A. Tracy from the Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Glenwood under the direction of the Masonic order of which he was a member.
