Wilton W. "Bill" Andrews, age 79 of Panama City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, May 14, 2007 at his home. He was born in Argyle, FL, and had lived in Panama City since 1934. Bill retired after 47 years as a papermaker with Stone Container Company. He had a lifelong faith in God; his delight was in spending time with his family. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, earning the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts for his actions during combat. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Pierce. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Andrews of Panama City; his children, Debra Pierce and husband Devon of Jacksonville, FL, Sandi Conner and husband Jimmy of Westville, FL, Austin Andrews and wife June of Lynn Haven and Ellen Andrews of Panama City; a brother, Dwan "Shorty" Andrews and wife Irene of Frostproof, FL; his grandchildren, Melinda Lamb and husband Kevin, Perry Conner and wife Amy, Jessica Pierce, Aundrea Massinger and husband Brian and Crystal Andrews; 4 great-grandchildren, Haley, Andrew, and Addison Lamb and Ethan Conner. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Moffett officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's name may be made to either Immanuel Baptist Church, 216 College Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 or Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
