When Rab passed away, his family went thru his personal papers. One of the things they found was a letter from the Army Air Corp stating that Rab had been on his way back from the South Pacific when his plane landed in Hawaii for a lay over before continuing on to California.
We're not certain if he landed on Saturday, or on Sunday morning, but he was there when the Japanese attacked on July 7, 1941.
He never spoke of it, no one in the family knew of this until after his death.
He was also the seventh great grandson of Anders Peterson Longacre, born 1657, and Magdalena Cock Longacre, born 1859, the first Longacre's born in America.
