Sprague Funeral Set Wednesday
NEW BRITAIN (Special) -
Funeral services for Mrs. Harriett J. Sprague, 78, of Newington, one of the founders of the New Britain Girl Scout Council, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Porter's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass. Long active in the Girl Scout movement and a personal friend of Mrs. Juliette Gordon Lowe, its founder, Mrs. Sprague was a founder of Camp Sprague for girls scouts in Portland, named after her, and served as this city's first Girl Scout Commissioner 42 years ago. A resident of Newington since 1918, she was a charter member of the Maple Hill Women's Club and the Newington Garden Club and was a member of First Congregational Church here. She leaves her husband, Leon A Sprague, former banker, and a founder of the New Britain Rotary Club: a son, Harold C. Sprague of Newington; a daughter, Mrs. Frederick P. Tucker of South Dartmouth, Mass. and two grandchildren.
