Agnes Marie was the second of ten [known] children born to Johann Bernard & Bernadina Schmiesing. She immigrated at age 17 with her parents & siblings aboard the SS Berlin; landing in Baltimore, MD on 18 August 1871.

On 16 June 1873, Agnes Marie married Herman John Imdieke at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove, MN; she was age 19, he was 30.
