GAYS MILLS - David J. Cordts, age 56, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, of liver cancer, surrounded by his family and friends at the Boscobel Area Health Care in Boscobel. He was born Nov. 18, 1949, in Lancaster, the son of Clifford "Nipper" and Dorothy (McLimans) Cordts. He married Robin Mindham on Feb. 16, 1990, in Prairie du Chien.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Cordts of Gays Mills; two children, Casey and Cody Cordts of Gays Mills; his mother, Dorothy Cordts of Fennimore; three brothers, Dennis (Cindy) Cordts of Oregon, Steve Cordts of Fennimore, and Greg Cordts of Fennimore; a sister, Susan Cordts and Bill Sweeney of Mount Hope; mother-in-law, Patricia Mindham of Mount Zion; brother-in-law, Mark Mindham of Mount Zion; sister-in-law, Lorie (Greg) Mumm of Dodgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford, on Feb. 11, 1996; and father-in-law, Kenneth Mindham, on Feb. 19, 2001.

Funeral services will be held at the BOSCOBEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Boscobel, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, with Pastor Stan Pegram officiating and burial in the Haney Ridge Cemetery, Crawford County, with military honors.
