Walter H. Grim Born in York

HANCOCK, N.H. - Walter H. Grim, 79, of Hancock, N.H., formerly of Great Bridge, Va., died Thursday at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, N.H. He was the hus band of Dorothy (Gordy) Grim, to whom he was married for 57 years.

There will be no service. The Jellison Funeral Home Inc., Peterbo rough, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Grim was born Feb. 22, 1920, in York. He was the son of the late Elwood and Emma (Hovis) Grim.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and participated in the D-Day invasion; he was also a retired U.S. Air Force colonel. He was a Titan II missile commander and received the Purple Heart; Air Medal; and various oak leaf clusters. He taught Junior ROTC at Westover Air Force Base until his retirement. He was also a member of First Congregational Church in Hancock; Hancock Old Crock's Club; and Angus Lea Golf Club in Hillsborough, N.H. He was a graduate of West Chester University and West Springfield College.

Mr. Grim also is survived by a son, Kirk Grim of Belchertown, Mass.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Cooper of Red Lion and Ruth Truscott of Phoenix, Ariz.
