James A. Mushal, 55, of Shickshinny went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Celtic Hospice Healthcare Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre, after a long battle with cancer.Mr. Mushal was born Dec. 19, 1959, in Wilkes-Barre, and was the son of Ada Jacoby Mushal of Nanticoke and the late Edward Mushal.James graduated from Northwest Area High School in 1977 and was employed as a telephone installer by Frontier Communications. He was an active volunteer fire fighter and EMT since the age of 17, most recently with the Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company.He attended Fellowship Church in Dallas. One of Jim's greatest passions was southern gospel music, and for many years had been involved as a concert promoter, bringing several notable groups to our area, as well as the Lancaster County area.He was a loving husband and father, a loyal friend and was very devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Mushal II.James is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Wendy Pollock; daughter, Megan Mushal, at home; sister, Anita Zimmerman, Hunlock Creek; various in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Fellowship Church, 45 Hildebrandt Road, Dallas, with Pastor Marc Ramirez of the Fellowship Church and Pastor Dan Brubaker of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Ross Township.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
