William Crow served in the Revolutionary War.
He applied for a pension in Jackson County, Ohio in 1833.

While residing in Rockingham County, he volunteered about the year 1779, served 3 months in Captain John Hopkins company, Colonel Nawl's Virginia Regiment. He later served 3 months as private in Captain George Baxter's company, Colonel Nawls and Darke's Regiments, about 21 days in Captain Coger's Company, and 4 months in Captain Richard Ragan's Company; during this last tour, he was at the capture of Cornwallis.

William Crow, Sr lived in Jackson County from about 1820 to 1835.

The soldier, William Crow, was allowed pension on his application executed April 2, 1833, then living in Clinton Township, Jackson County, Ohio.

On July 20, 1835 he stated that he had "lately removed" from Ohio and was then living in Illinois, where he had come with his son, James Crow.

Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary War Patriots states he is buried in a private cemetery near Pottstown, Limestone Township, Illinois.

His exact burial location is unknown at this time. He could be laid to rest with his son, James Crow in Jones Family Cemetery in Peoria County, Illinois.
