Married Harriet BALDWIN, Sept. 12, 1847, Ellington, NY. She was dau of Jeremiah and Wealthy (Churchill), and was b. Oct. 17, 1818, at Bethany, N.Y. (d. 1910, Medford, OR).
He was graduated from Oberlin College, Ohio, in 1846.

Rev. Cooley was an ordained Freewill Baptist minister and pastor. He had also served as missionary to India before his health forced him from the field. He was involved in preaching and organizing churches in the western states, and was about to go to Kenesaw, NE, when he took ill and died.
It was a great loss to the fledging church movement there as he was an able minister and esteemed by all who knew him.
