Roger B. Sims
Birth: Mar. 31, 1938
Death: Feb. 2, 2004

Television Producer, US Air Force Veteran. Born in Chicago and raised in Brooklyn, he attended Howard University for three years before entering the US Air Force Academy. On June 5, 1963, he was one of the first three African-Americans to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy. He flew missions throughout the Far East including Viet Nam from 1969 until illness forced him to retire in 1991. He worked for NBC and CBS as a producer on the Evening News with Walter Cronkite and Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt and was nominated for two national Emmy Awards. He died in his sleep at his home in Everett, Washington.  (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
