David Henry Williams
Birth: Mar. 19, 1819
Death: Jun. 1, 1891

Civil War Union Brigadier General. Born in Otsego County, New York, he was engineer and railroad surveyor, when he enlisted in the Union Army being commissioned a Colonel in the 31st Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. In command of the 31st Pennsylvania, he lead his corps at Seven Pines, Malvern Hill and Maryland Campaign. At the Battle of Antietam, he was in command of the 82nd Pennsylvania Regiment. In November 1862, he was promoted Brigadier General assigned to VI Corps and participated in the Battle of Fredericksburg. After the war, he returned to his profession as an engineer and also was a newspaper writer. He died at age 71 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
