Lifelong Resident of Des Moines County Succumbs At Home Here

Mrs. Ella Johnson Lett, wife of Walter Lett, died at her home, 1316 North Sixth street, at 6:10 last night. Mrs. Lett had lived here all of her life.

Born here October 14, 1870, she celebrated her sixtieth birthday anniversary Tuesday of this week. She was married to Mr. Lett in 1892 at the home of W. W. Dodge in Burlington. She was a member of the Hawkeye Natives auxiliary and the Methodist church. Mrs. Lett had been seriously ill since July.

Surviving relatives, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Clayton Brumm of Mediapolis, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Page of Burlington and Mrs. A. W. Paddock of Malden, Illinois; one brother, Bamford [incorrectly spelled "Sanford" in the obit] Johnson of Kossuth, and seven grandchildren. One son, Charles Lett, and a brother, Frank Johnson, preceded Mrs. Lett in death.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Friends are invited. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.
