JUDGE DAY DIES AT HAZEL GREEN
Judge Day, a son of Marion and Sarina Day was born in Breathitt County, KY., on June 24, 1876 and departed this life, February 27, 1950 at the age of 73 years, 8 months and three days.He was united in marriage to Mollie Noble, December 11, 1896 and to this union were born 12 children. Three of these preceeded him in death. The nine remaining children are: Mrs. Bill Swango, Eaton, Ohio; Mrs. Elva Blankenship, Hamilton, O; Mrs. Forest Horn, Eaton, O; Mrs. Albert Duerring, Ludlow, KY; Mrs. Lloyd Stamper, Denniston, Ky; Mrs. Lona Center, Cherleston, Ill: Mrs. Robert Pennington, Middletown, O.: Mrs. Herbert Center, Dayton, O.: and Mr. Orville Day, Hazel Green, Ky.He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Day, twenty-eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. One brother, Bill Day, Rousseau, Ky., and one sister, Mrs. Georgia Landrum, Jackson, Ky.Mr. Day joined the Methodist church in Breathitt county when quite young. He loved the Lord and prayed continually for His will to be done in his life. He endured his suffering with patience and kept his faith until the Lord called him home. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and neighbors. He and his companion were united in holy wedlock for 53 years.Funeral services were conducted at the Hazel Green Methodist Church, on Wednesday morning, March 1, at 11 o'clock, with Rev. J. Ryan Nevius officiating. Special music was furnished by a sextette, and also a duet of girls.Burial was in the Holderby Cemetery, under the direction of Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton, KY
