Childrens's author, essayist. Before turning to writing books, Brooks worked as free-lance writer and a reporter and then he joined the New Yorker magazine in 1927. His many books include, "Charlotte'S Web" (1952), "Is Sex Necessary?" (1929), "The Elements of Style" (1935), "Stuart Little" (1945), "The Trumpet of The Swan" (1970), "Points My Compass" (1962), "The Second Tree From The Corner" (1954), "Letters of E.B. White" (1976) and "Poems And Sketches of E.B. White" (1981). In 1978 Brooks was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his hardwork work and introducing us to such characters as Wilbur the Pig and Charlotte the Spider.
