Professional Boxer. Born of Filipino descent, he was a champion lightweight boxer dubbed the "Hawaiian Punch". Noted as a hard hitting south paw, he made his pro debut with a second round knockout of Mandru Nagaoka on May 19, 1972. In a match with Vicente Saldivar on March 28, 1978, he captured the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) lightweight title by scoring a technical knock out in the eighth round. He also won the World Athletic Association (WAA) lightweight crown with a second round knockout over Sean O'Grady on October 31, 1981. He concluded his career with a record of 34 wins, 30 by knockout and 5 losses. In 2003, he was named to Ring Magazines' list of top 100 Greatest Punchers of All-Time and he is also a member of the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame.
