Located in the sea port district on Harbor Drive at the G Street Mole, San Diego, California, the monument is a sculptural artwork titled "A National Salute to Bob Hope and the Military". Designed by sculptor Eugene Daub and the Steven Whyte Studio, the tribute features sixteen larger than life-size bronze statues in a 48-foot diameter circular plaza. The figures with Bob Hope in front, represent the USO road shows he entertained for US troops in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Cold War and the first Persian Gulf War. The memorial stands in memory to Hope for over 50 years of dedication and support to US forces whom served throughout the world.
